Booking & Cancellation Policy
1. Rates, booking and payment
Moreno Explorer expedition rates are quoted per person in Argentine pesos (ARS) and are subject to change without prior notice.
Bookings, confirmations, modifications and cancellations are handled exclusively by email at book@morenoexplorer.com, specifying date, time and number of passengers, or through our website morenoexplorer.com.
Full payment is required to confirm a booking. Moreno Explorer does not hold reservations without full payment received.
2. Passenger modifications and cancellations
Passengers may modify a booking (date or time change, subject to availability) up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure at no additional charge, other than any fare difference if the new date has a different rate.
Cancellations requested 7 or more days before the scheduled departure: 100% refund of the amount paid.
Cancellations requested less than 7 days before the scheduled departure: 100% penalty of the amount paid, with no right to a refund.
"No Show": failure to appear at the agreed date, time and boarding point is considered a No Show, resulting in a 100% penalty with no right to a refund or rescheduling.
3. Suspension or cancellation by Moreno Explorer
Moreno Explorer may suspend or cancel an expedition due to weather conditions, the state of Lago Argentino, force majeure (see Terms & Conditions, "Force majeure" section) or technical or operational reasons that compromise passenger or crew safety.
In such cases, Moreno Explorer will first offer to reschedule the expedition for another available date or time. If a new date cannot be agreed upon, a 100% refund of the amount paid will be issued.
The decision to suspend or cancel a departure rests exclusively with the captain and Moreno Explorer, always prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew above all other considerations.
4. Refunds and policy changes
When a refund applies, it will be processed through the same payment method used for the original booking. Moreno Explorer is not responsible for processing times that depend on the passenger's bank or financial institution, nor for any fees or exchange-rate differences they may apply.
Moreno Explorer reserves the right to modify rates and policies at any time. Changes will not apply retroactively to bookings already confirmed and paid.
Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of terms and scope of service
These Terms and Conditions constitute an agreement between the passenger (hereinafter, the "User") and Fitz Roy Expediciones CUIT: 30-70886726-4 (hereinafter, "Moreno Explorer"), the direct operator of the tourist navigation service on Lago Argentino with observation of the Perito Moreno Glacier, within Los Glaciares National Park.
By booking or using Moreno Explorer's services, the User declares to have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions, as well as the Booking & Cancellation Policy, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy published on the website.
Unlike a travel agent or intermediary, Moreno Explorer provides the navigation service directly, with its own vessel, crew and operations.
2. Boarding requirements and conditions
The User must arrive at the boarding point indicated in the booking confirmation with the requested advance notice. Failure to appear at the agreed time is considered a No Show under the Booking & Cancellation Policy.
Minors must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
Moreno Explorer may reschedule the departure time for operational or safety reasons, informing the User with as much advance notice as possible.
By booking and participating in the expedition, the User gives free and informed consent, acknowledging that the activity takes place in a natural environment (navigation on Lago Argentino, with approach to the Perito Moreno Glacier) subject to variable weather and navigability conditions, and accepts the inherent risks of the activity that Moreno Explorer's safety measures cannot fully eliminate.
3. Safety and service quality
Moreno Explorer's operations comply with current regulations of the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) and the National Parks Administration (APN) for tourist navigation within Los Glaciares National Park.
The vessel is operated by a captain licensed by the Argentine Naval Prefecture, accompanied by crew members trained and certified by the same authority. All passengers receive a life jacket before boarding, which must be worn throughout the navigation.
Moreno Explorer prioritizes the safety of passengers and crew above any other commercial or operational objective, and reserves the right to suspend the expedition under any conditions that may compromise it (see Booking & Cancellation Policy, section 3).
Staff receive ongoing training aimed at improving service quality and operational safety.
4. Liability and limitations
Moreno Explorer is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of personal items, money or belongings that the passenger carries during the expedition.
Moreno Explorer shall not be liable for third-party services not directly contracted by the company (transport to or from the boarding point, accommodation or other tourist services), as they are not part of the service offered.
5. Force majeure
Moreno Explorer shall not be liable nor obligated to refund when service provision is prevented by force majeure or fortuitous events, including but not limited to: adverse weather conditions, floods or changes in the level of Lago Argentino, calving from the Perito Moreno Glacier that compromises navigation, provisions of the Argentine Naval Prefecture or the National Parks Administration, strikes, road blockages or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
In such cases, the provisions of the Booking & Cancellation Policy, section 3 apply (rescheduling and, if not possible, 100% refund).
6. Intellectual property
The contents of the Moreno Explorer website (text, images, logo and design) are the property of Fitz Roy Expediciones CUIT: 30-70886726-4 or its licensors, and may not be reproduced or used without prior written authorization.
7. Amendments, applicable law and jurisdiction
Moreno Explorer may amend these Terms and Conditions at any time; the version in effect shall be that published on the website at the time of booking.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. For any dispute arising from their interpretation or application, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the ordinary courts of El Calafate, Province of Santa Cruz, with express waiver of any other forum or jurisdiction.
