Your visit, explained
Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
A clear account of the information your browser keeps when you explore Moreno Explorer.
Cookies & similar technologies
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website asks your browser to store. They can be sent back with later requests to that website. Similar technologies include local storage, which keeps information in your browser for a particular website, and the browser cache, which can retain downloaded files.
Websites may use these technologies to support essential features, remember preferences or measure how visitors use a service. The purposes depend on what each website actually implements. This policy describes the current Moreno Explorer website as of September 2026.
What Moreno Explorer stores
The current website does not implement analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies. It does not set its own application cookies for sign-in, tracking or reservations. There is no cookie-consent banner or stored consent record in the current implementation.
When you select English or Spanish, we save that choice in your browser’s local storage under the name moreno-explorer-language. Its value is en or es. This functional preference lets the interface remember your chosen language when you return; it is not an advertising identifier and does not contain your name or contact details.
The language preference has no expiry set by the website. It remains until you change it, clear the website’s stored data or your browser removes it. Without a saved Spanish preference, the interface defaults to English. Local storage is distinct from a cookie and is not automatically attached to web requests.
Calendar selections, open menus and gallery controls use temporary page memory rather than persistent browser storage. The website does not use session storage, IndexedDB or a service worker to retain these selections. Your browser may also cache site files to load them more efficiently; this is separate from the saved language preference.
Maps, weather & external content
The route map uses Leaflet, a library served with our website. Where satellite imagery is enabled, your browser requests map tiles from Esri’s ArcGIS World Imagery service as the map loads and you navigate it. The map’s weather display requests current conditions from Open-Meteo for fixed coordinates near the glacier; it does not request your device’s location.
These requests connect your browser to external services and disclose the network information needed to deliver the response, including your IP address. They are not evidence that a tracking cookie has been set. Moreno Explorer’s map and weather code does not itself write cookies or local storage. The external providers control their own processing and any storage their services may use.
Our photographs, videos, logos and fonts are served as site assets. We do not currently embed an external video player or social-media feed. Partner and park-admission links take you to separate websites when you follow them; those websites have their own policies.

Booking & reservation features
The current calendar is an on-page interface. Its date and departure selections are held temporarily in page memory, and it does not set reservation or payment cookies. No external booking or payment interface is currently active.
A TuriTop integration is prepared in the website code but is not configured in the current version. It therefore does not load a booking iframe or introduce TuriTop browser storage. We will review this policy when a live reservation service is enabled, including any relevant third-party storage.
Managing your browser settings
You can review or delete cookies and website data in your browser’s privacy or site-settings controls. To remove the language preference, clear the stored site data for Moreno Explorer; deleting cookies alone may not remove local storage. You can also change the preference directly using the website’s language selector.
Browsers commonly offer controls for third-party cookies, individual website permissions and cached files. The names and locations of these controls vary by browser and device; consult your browser’s help for instructions. Clearing data for another website must be done separately.
Blocking browser storage can prevent language preferences from being saved or affect interface functionality. Blocking external requests can stop satellite imagery or weather information from loading. Disabling JavaScript affects interactive features such as the calendar, language selector and map.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the website, its booking tools or external services evolve. The last-updated date on this page identifies the latest revision. Please revisit this page to check how the current website uses cookies and similar technologies.
